100 Drums, One Rhythm: A Team-Building Workshop at Stockport Academy

How often do school teachers get to participate in a truly fun and energizing workshop? Last week at Stockport Academy, we gave 100 staff members exactly that opportunity with an unforgettable African drumming session. With every participant equipped with a djembe, the event set a vibrant tone for their whole-staff training day, which focused on character education, participation, and togetherness.

From the moment the session began, the room was buzzing with excitement. For many staff members, this was their first encounter with African drumming, and they embraced the challenge with open minds and plenty of enthusiasm. Others, particularly the music teachers, were already familiar with the djembe and brought confidence and rhythm to the group. Their experience helped guide those around them, creating an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.
